1.50mm Gold plated standard round link Check Chain collar made by Herm. Sprenger in Germany; these chains are available in sizes 40cm, 45cm, 50cm, 60cm & 65cm. This product is part of our Standard range of round link chain collars, it is the style that is most often used by Trainers & other professional dog handlers, along with being the most popular type for the home dog; the 1.50mm (wire diameter) Gold plated steel collar is recommended for small dogs similar in size/strength to the Jack Russel Terrier or Pug.
To calculate the correct size Check Chain for your dog, please measure the diameter around your dog's neck just behind the ears with a tape measure & add 5cm to this measurement; choose a chain that is this size or slightly larger (please note that Sprenger check chains measurements include the end rings). With some dogs the width of the head can present difficulties with fitting your collar (e.g. Bull Terriers), if you are concerned that this may be a problem measure the diameter of the largest part of your dog's head (over the base of the ears) and check that your chosen size of collar is larger.

The wire is electro-welded into the raw chains which are constantly checked for breaking strain before plating.
These chains are extremely attractive, often used for dog showing & just as often used by dog show-offs. Please remember that this is a real Gold plate & is not as hard a finish as the chrome. While the Gold plated chains are as strong as the chrome plated ones, the plating will wear much quicker; for this reason we do not recommend this product for dogs being trained.
